"Dink Smallwood is a perfect example of the refined basics of classic RPG and adventure games…enjoy the hearty dose of something simple, silly, and special." - Jordan Thomas, Avault.com

"The main hook in this game has to be the sense of humor that permeates it... the difference is that this game is beautiful, gory, and has a wonderful (and twisted) sense of humor.” - T. Byrl Baker, Computer Gaming World

It all began in a world where dragons roamed the land and knights fought with valor and honor.

And then there was Dink. Can a simple pig farmer thrust into an epic journey of magic and adventure save the world?

Pros and cons of Dink Smallwood HD app for iPhone and iPad

Dink Smallwood HD app good for

w00t!!! Dink has come to the i line of devices!! I loved this game on the PC lol It is a lot of fun :) The game is pretty easy to learn... Game play is a lot of fun... While they may not be the greatest graphics they accomplish the job :) I have only been playing a short time so far, but the game has run very nicely so far... I hope sometime in the future, we will see a number if the DMODs appear to give us more game play options.... Good Job!! Great to see this game making its presence known again!!!
I am so glad to have this game sitting in my pocket at all times. I spent hours upon hours with this game, almost as much as I did on big name games like System Shock 2 and Half Life at the time - not that this game is at all like those games, it plays more like The Legend of Zelda back when it was top-down/isometric. Definitely worth purchasing - with literally hours upon hours of gameplay, a solid storyline that is out of the ordinary, and the possibility for possible dMod expansion adventures in future updates youd be a fool not to buy this. And if you really want to make sure before you purchase - find a copy of the PC version which is freeware and give it a try!!! 5/5
If you are into hardcore or old school RPGs with exp level ups, magic, secrets and much more then you are in for a treat with this game, I picked it up and played it till 1am that same night. I hope we can find some of the user content or expansions to come to the iPad version! If you like RPGs get this game! It wont disappoint!
Fantastic port of a great game, and the ability to download custom dmods means you will have a hard time running out of quests!!
This is very much like the old PC game from years ago, and its very enjoyable. Although one flaw, and to me its a major one, you cant save anywhere, and everywhere. You need to find a save point, which I find kind of frustrating. With my style of play,. and a storyline which I find immersive, I tend to forget about saving in order to enjoy the moment. Yet when I do, the second problem I find with this game comes up; when ever you enter combat with a difficult opponent, you are usually locked into that screen, and cant make a tactical retreat when you need to. Knowing that I forget to save is a good thing, the story is easy to get caught up in; and the story behind Dink is lighthearted in a way that doesnt get old. Dink Smallwood in spite of being a budget game is well worth the small charge.
I remember playing this game years back on the pc. Its a very different kind of game, its got some corky humour. The game seems a little weak and dry when you first play it, but as you move on it gets really fun and interesting. I havent finished it on the app version but I have on the pc version and I must say it was worth time well spent :)

Some bad moments

I must be playing a different game than the other reviewers, as I am not impressed at all. The game is very linear and basic, not that exciting. Might be good for nostalgic value, but little else. Certainly not worth more than $1.
Playing on iPad and Im loving it! Great sense of humor in the game
I tried to write like ten reviews, then I remembered writing reviews is just terrible. This game is real, real good. Buy it dummy.
Dink is a classic rpg thats a lot of fun. The humor is great! Buy this now!
If you are into rpgs, this definitely adds something new and fresh to the formula. Combat is very engaging and controls are great. Go buy it!
This game is a remake of an old PC RPG game and is a lot of fun to play. There are two different control options(d-pad and touch) to choose from, both work well. The graphics are very pretty and the music fits the game. This is a quality remake that should appeal to anyone who likes RPGs.
